SMR is sort of a prequel
to SMJ. I have no idea where it fits into the time line but it has younger
versions of Lime Cherry and Bloodberry. This time they are in the Country
of Romania. Lime and Cherry are prince Junior’s bodyguards and Bloodberry
is the King’s Soon Romania is under attack by Star Face and his army of
robots led by his sex dolls. Star Face is the kings son who was exiled
for crimes against the country. Junior Lime, Cherry and Bloodberry escape
the city. The rest of the series is about them trying to retake Romania.
The series is a lot darker and meant for mature audiences. Don’t except
a ton of comedy in it at all. It is very serious most of the time and very
dark. The plot twists aren’t; really there like they were in the other
SMJ series but this is only a 3 part series so there can’t be many but
the Overall story is good, but not as good as SMJ’s. I think that SMJ and
SMR are 2 visions of the same world and have nothing to do with each other
at all. But to any hardcore SMJ fan it’s a must see. Megumi Hayashibara
reprises her role as lime once again. The voice actresses that did Cherry
and Bloodberry are in it also. The animation is also not that good the
characters seem very blocky at some points and the character designs are
completely different. there is also no theme song. The series is mediocre
but still good and a must see for SMJ fans
