<Spits on the Tape> That’s exactly what I think of it. This has got to be the worst piece of #@%$#@%#!%#@!$ I have EVER watched in my ENTIRE life! Oh my god, I’ve never seen anything this bad! I’d rather watch 100000 episodes of SpeedRacer!!! I wasted my $19.95 when I bought this… oh god did I. All right, here’s the run down, because I’m thrashing this piece of @$## all over the place. First off animation. You know, everyone is turning to computers these days and it’s way obvious that they used computers in PD. The coloring and shading were EXCELLENT, some of the best I’ve ever seen in my life. The characters were well designed and drawn and had a life and spark of their own. Want to know the problem though? Anything that a character wasn’t holding or needed to pick up was computer generated. And it was some EXCELLENT computer generation! But what’s my problem with that? The fact that anime characters on top of some sharp, but obviously computer generated backgrounds does not work AT ALL. Seperately, they are excellent, together, they do not work! That’s why the art looks like utter crap. The only time that they blended together well were in the interior of the Empire’s ships AND when the dragons use their special effects. At that moment, the goals of the arts was evident and looked better than anything else I have ever seen. Story wise, I’m going to trample whoever wrote this trash. I’m not a die-hard PD lover or anything (I DO however have Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Sega Saturn and it is possibly the best RPG I have ever played in my life… and I am a die hard RPG fan.. the only type of game I play) but I do respect the PD series storyline. It’s very very well written and deserves a standing ovation. So why in the hell did they rip it apart when they made this anime?! I mean, you have a perfectly awesome story and you rip it apart!!! How did they though? For one, since this anime is only thirty minutes long, you have to fit over 3000 years of story into thirty minutes… meaning that they skipped a LOT of stuff and by the end, you could care less what the story was about. Secondly, they added on some stupid goal for the main character… get his lover Alita back. Where in the hell did that come from? Whereever it came from, they can throw it back there. I mean, I loved Alita and all, but why in the hell put that crap in the excellent storyline? Ugh!!! And now, onto the music, voices, sound… oh music was this movies ONLY saving grace! I start up the movie ONLY to listen to the ending theme because it is excellent. Background music? It’s good when you have to hear it but if you don’t need to, it’s not bothering you, which is always good as well. The sounds are good. Not GREAT but good enough. Voice acting? Don’t even get me started. All right, Alita’s voice is fine, in fact, the person playing her is excellent. The dragon, Blau? He’s decent.. not great but decent enough. The main character? Let me find the person who did that voice and rip his throat out! He was the WORST VOICE ACTOR I HAVE EVER HEARD! Oh my god, he stresses Alita’s voice so many times, it’s stuck in my head and he is purposely trying to be proper about everything! Hell, just let the words flow naturely!! Overall, this movie is HORRIBLE. Team Andromeda, Sega, I don’t know why you let ADV Films mess with your trademark… ugh.. they tore it apart. In fact, the ONLY reason you’d want to buy this movie is for the previews BEFORE the movie! They are far better than the movie itself!!! Do NOT buy this unless you need one of two things: 1) New place mat at the dinner table 2) Step ladder.
