I found this series while
browsing for new anime to buy, I looked at the cover (which is gorgeous!)
and read how it stated that it was voted Japan's most popular anime ever,
this of course intrigued me, I was think "yeah right, probably some poll
they took from five employees of the company that made it" so I had to
of course try it out....probably best decision I've ever made! This series
is outstanding in every aspect! Character design, animation, music, plot,
dialogue, humour, this series has everything that it takes to make a legendary
series and puts it together in a masterpiece of animation. The story takes
place in a future where humanity also inhabits the moon and Mars. The human
race is then being invaded by an enemy that takes occupancy over Mars and
is threatening to take over earth! The Earths Military has completely abandoned
Mars and all those civilians who inhabit the planet. Since the military
is reluctant and blatantly refusing to help a private corporation decides
that something must be done. They have created the Earths most advanced
space battleship the "Nadesico" who shields and weapons rival the enemy
invaders. They gather an odd but effective crew of outsiders who prove
they have what it takes. Even the captain who seems to be a young airheaded
woman named "Yurika" shows genius in her military strategy when the time
comes. This series draws you in and wont let go! Its a wild ride be sure
not to miss it!!
