Now I must say that Macross
Dynamite 7 is amazing except for it’s very unclear ending. You’ll see what
I mean. Your not quite sure what happens to the characters after the end
of episode 4. But the basic plot of it is Basara takes off once again.
This time he ends up on the planet Zola and get caught up it the conflict.
On Zola every year Galactic Whales come by the planet and poachers try
to poach them. The Zola patrol attempts to stop them but are not always
successful. Anyhow Basara gets involved in all of this while everyone worries
about him back on Macross 7. Mylene also gets all worked up again. Well
I must say the animation in this is amazing. It was perfect and it used
computer animation. The intro was awesome I loved it. The music was also
excellent the new fire bomber songs were great. There was also a lot of
action in the series. Basara was singing during battles but he was not
getting in the patrol forces way at all. He tries to sing to the Galactic
Whales. The story was good it was definitely an OVA story though. It lacked
the depth that the original TV series had. Overall I liked it. I think
that Macross fans that did not really like the original TV series would
still get a kick out of the OVA. Though overall it was a great series I
really enjoyed it.
