| Well I really liked Macross
7. Does that surprise anybody, many fans that have imported the series
or gotten it fansubbed have hated it. I have no idea why. Many people complained
it was not Macrossy but with the Entire original team back
how could they complain. I actually liked the story it centers around the Rock n Roll band Fire Bomber aboard the Macross 7 fleet. Maximillian Jenius is the Captain and his wife Miria Jenius is the Mayor. For those of you who have seen Robotech or the original Macross TV series that is Max and Miria from that series. Now some people didn't like the story but I loved it. The focus on the characters was great. I really liked how they went in depth about the Members of Fire Bomber, Nekki Basara, Ray Lovelock, Veffidas Feaze and Mylene Jenius. I like how the series is very story driven. It also revleals a lot about Macross History. I really likes the New Enemy the Varuta Empire and there protodeviln masters. I believe that the thing that turned off most fans is the fact that they used music as a weapon. But in episode 27 of Macross they do just that. Personally I loved the idea it was new and interesting. I also really liked Fire Bombers songs. Macross 7 is definitely different from all other Macross's. It's definitely not for everybody. The animation quality is actually decent. It was made at the same time as Gundam Wing but I must say that it's animation is better than Gudam Wing if you're a Macross fan then I say check it out. It may make it over here is english one day but it's highly unlikely right now.  |

Well first off if you didnt
know I am a DIE HARD Macross fan, its what got me started into anime, Macross
Plus being my favorite Macross production of all time. Macross 7 is a series
set some years in the future after the original Macross series where Max
is the captain of the Macross 7 and in charge of watching after the Macross
7 city and its fleet of deep space explorers. The story revolves mostly
around a band called "Firebomber" who play there music to fight the enemy
much in the way that Minmei did in the original series. Unfortunately for
me at least this series was lacking. it is without a doubt my least favorite
of the Macross shows. It just misses some of the key elements that made
the other Macross productions great, BIG thing is the lack of an actual
love triangle. Another thing for me at least is the lack of action in that
instead of Rick Hunter shooting a bazillion missiles (I Love those sceens
:P) we have Firebomber singing the enemy to death with songs that are good,
but can get a litttttle old. Plus you have Basara our main character in
the baddest valkerykie known to man the YF-19 and he doesnt use the thing!
I think Basara needs some lessons from one Isamu Diason ^_^ hehe. But in
his defense he is not a violent person by nature and just wants the universe
to hear his music so I'll let him off the hook. Still I think there is
a lot that could have been improved on with this series. A nice watch but
I think only die hard Macross fans will really like it, I do like I said
to an extent but it is my least favorite of the series.
