Flames of Recca is one of My fav anime series of all time. It’s about a boy named Hanabishi Recca who is actually a Ninja from the Hokage clan. He was sent through time to the present using the Hokage’s time manipulation technique. He’s half brother Kurei also went with him. Recca then meets this girl named Sakoshita Yanagi. It turns out that She has the power to heal. A man named Mourri Kouran find this out and he believes her power is the secret to eternal life. He has the boy he adopted who just happens to be Kurei go out to capture her. Before this happened Recca and Yanagi meet a strange character named Kage Houshi who challenges Recca to a battle then decides to help him out. Recca and Sakoshita are eventually joined by Kirisawa Fuko, Koganei Kaoru, Mikagami Tokiya and Ishijima Domon. The first few episodes are kinda
slow but once Sakoshita Yanagi gets kidnapped it really picks up. Flames of Recca is a fighting anime like Dragon Ball Z but It’s must better it many respects. First of all the plots is really well done. It has many hiding things and it surprises you at times. Also the Elemental weapons which everyone uses are awesome and have many special abilities and tricks. The powers of the elemental weapons are the main thing that places this anime high above others. IT leads to many interesting battles. There are hardly any long power up sequences. But there are many explanation sequences. These sequences are necessary to explain the elemental weapons powers. The other thing is many unexpected things happen. The battles in this series use a lot of brain power. At many points you think someone has just made the dumbest move and lost the fight. Next thing you know the fight is going in the other person favor. That is what I really like about this series. The animation in it is also really well done. It’s not the same quality as a lot of anime series but it is good. The music is excellent it fits the actions really well and sets the mode. The opening song by the Oystars is also excellent. This is an anime all fighting anime fans must see. the only disappointing thing is that like the bastard Recca was never finished and is being continued in the Manga series.
