Well Brain Powered is the second newest venture of Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino. The story is about a young boy named Yuu who is part of an organization known as the Reclaimers. The Reclaimers are working to ressurect this thing called Orphen which they believe to beliving intergalactic Spaceship. Orphen gives birth to these Organic plates some have been buried for a long time and surface during Earthquakes others are shot from orphen itself whihc rests deep under the sea. Yuu pilots an organic mech known as a Grand Cher. A Grand Cher and a human together form and Anti Body of Orphen and will protect it no matter what. During a mission to recover a plate Yuu and his partner Kanan encounter a Brain Powered. Brains are also organic Mecha. All of the Orphen Brains have been considerd genetic rejects that are useless. However this Brain is piloted by a girl named Hime Utsumiya who has just discoverd the new born. The Brain Powered operates as good as a Grand Cher. After this encounter Yuu becomes troubled about Orphen and the goals of the Reclaimers. One year later he leaves. The story focuses on Yuu as the main character and it is about him and the people around him. He ends up joining the crew of the Novis Noah a ship devoted to stopping Orphen. Well not to spoil anymore of it Brain Powered is an awesome anime on par with Gundam and Eva. I consider it a mix of both. The most interesting thing about Brain Powered is that it seems to the anti-thesis of Evangelion however it was being creater while Eva was on the air and the creator had never seen Eva before at all. Brain Powered is quickly becoming one of my favorite series. The sound track is also powered by Yoko Kanno and is awesome and contain magnificent instrumentals. This is a must have series for anyone that likes Gundam and Eva. It's a must have for anyone that enjoys anime a lot. It's weird at first but it quickly porgress's into a truly absorbing and powerful anime. The first 5 volumes will be available from Bandai come Septermber 5ht also the last two tapes have 6
episodes a peice. The series should be completely available early next year. This is something I think no one can live without.
